IF: Glow

It is once again Friday, so it is once again time for Illustration Friday. This week’s theme was: GLOW.

My first thought upon learning the topic was to draw a bunch of vacuum tubes, but that turned out to be a little more complicated than I wanted. So instead, here’s a glowing-eyed robot.

Glowing Robot

I just hope he’s a Three Laws robot and not a “Kill All Humans” robot.

IF: Stretch

This week’s Illustration Friday theme was: STRETCH. My first idea was to draw Mister Fantastic, Reed Richards. That could have turned out nicely if I’d dedicated more time to it, but instead, I decided to be hypercritical and scrap the drawing. Instead, I decided to start over and draw Bender, from Futurama.

Illustration Friday: Stretch

Once I realized that he was shaped like a cocktail shaker, everything just sort of fell into place. Except for the visor. That part is still a bit challenging, but I’m sure I’ll stumble across the trick to it sooner or later.

Next week’s theme is: EXPLORE. I’m sure to draw the USS Enterprise.

On Hobbies

Today’s prompt is to share “a hobby of yours.”

What, besides typing words into the Internet for the possible entertainment of others?

Very well, then. A non-blogging hobby. Wikipedia defines a hobby as an “activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure or relaxation, typically done in one’s leisure.” Notice that Wikipedia did not say anything about the frequency with which the activity should be undertaken. This is fortunate, since there is a subject that I have a great interest in…

Ooh! Now I feel all motivated and stuff. Now, where did I put that drill press?
