Erik R. has called my attention to the “Pic a Day in May” challenge, so I figured I’d give it a shot, too. I am a sucker for a blog challenge. And while I haven’t been reading a lot of books lately, and certainly haven’t been taking any vacations, and haven’t even anything to complain about but grocery stores, I do carry my Droid everywhere I go. So, I should be able to get at least one picture of one thing each day. And if I manage to do that, well, maybe I’ll even remember to do the 12-on-12 this month.
So, without further ado, let’s play catch up.
A few days ago, I found myself at the San Diego Concourse, a structure built in the 1960′s to spark a revitalization of Downtown San Diego. It’s a got a small convention center, an opera house, office buildings, and City Hall. It also has this fountain.
The Concourse has still got a decidedly funky 1960′s design aesthetic to itself that calls to mind late-night sitcom reruns and Disneyland’s “It’s a Small World” ride. And while the Concourse may have sparked Downtown’s revitalization, it was still many more years before the area began to truly flourish again.
Yesterday was a busy day. It wasn’t until 9:00 pm that I could even sit down for dinner, and I ended up at the place I did mainly because I knew they’d be open and have easy parking… and plentiful beers…
Today, I found a recycling bin that someone had drawn a face on.
Let’s hope tomorrow brings something more interesting.
