Microfiction: Might-have-been

Welcome to Microfiction Monday, where an image paints 140 characters or fewer.

Greetings from New York City

We asked Grandpa about the postcard we found in one of his books. “A future that might have been,” he said. He wouldn’t explain further.

  1. Oh I like that. Maybe because my Grandpa was born in the US but we are Brits because his parents didn’t find the new life they were looking for and came back. Otherwise I “might have been” born in Connecticut with a different future!

  2. I love it–all kinds of scenarios started popping up in my mind..his job?…a lost love?…illness? I really like these stories that make you wonder and want more!

  3. Oh, I enjoyed this one! I wonder what secrets Grandpa holds–perhaps all will be revealed at the reading of his will once he’s ‘gone’. Great job.
